Reepol has a wide range of solutions that can be suitable for use anywhere from a domestic garage floor to industrial floor paint for concrete floors to workshop floor paint. Different resin floor paints serve different purposes. When it comes to a workshop floor, epoxy floor paint is the best choice.
For one thing, it adheres extremely well and is crack resistant. This is important if you want your workshop floor to maintain its clean and attractive appearance. For another thing, epoxy floor paint provides a high quality level of protection from oil, petrolleum, glue and other floor destroying elements. Epoxy paint is also chemical resistant and heat resistant.
Our Reecote line of products is ideal for workshop floors. Reecote paints provide resistance to abrasion as well as chemicals. This coating is fast curing, cures well at low temperatures, yields a very good film thickness, and the resulting surface is dust free.
Here are some suggestions for a good, high quality workshop floor paint:
Reecote EC014 is a solvent based coating which is 75% solid and requires two coats. It is recommended for workshops as well as warehouses, light industrial factories, and garages. It is known for being a hygienic and easy clean floor coating. It is a blend of epoxy resins, curing agents, mineral fillers, and solvent.
Preparation of the surface before applying Reecote EC014 involves ensuring that the substrate is clean, free from laitence, oil, grease or other agents, which may impair adhesion. Cleaning techniques may include, acid etching, grinding, light mechanical scabbling, blasting or degreasing, depending on floor contamination. If it is being applied over existing concrete, the concrete must be sound and free from loose material. Any damaged areas should be repaired with a Reepare Mortar prior to the coating application.
It comes in a two-pack system and once it is mixed, application can be done by brush or roller. The second coat should be applied within 24 hours of the first. If the concrete floor is of very porous concrete, it may need a third coat.
Reecote EC015 is a water dispersible epoxy coating with a matt finish and it can be used for walls as well as floors. Ideally, it is used on concrete surfaces where a non-toxic surface is needed. Preparation is identical to the preparation requirements for Reecote EC014. It comes in pre-weighed containers to which a resin pack is added. If necessary, it can be thinned with water.
The second coat should be applied within 24 hours of the first and preferably as soon as the first coat is touch dry. This flooring can be rendered a non-skid finish with the application of aluminium oxide on the first or second coat while it is still tacky.
Reecote EC017 is a solvent free, high build epoxy coating with a gloss finish for walls and floors. It comes in a two-pack system. Reecote EC017’s version LTC cures at low temperatures and Reecote EC017 FC has a fast curing agent.
